About the Author
Natasha Garcha is the author of Gender Equality and Climate Security: The Athenian Edge (forthcoming De Gruyter Brill, Summer 2026), which advances a practical framework for translating systemic climate and security risks into actionable finance and policy solutions. The book builds on research conducted at Harvard University and the University of Oxford.

Her work sits at the intersection of finance, climate security, and gender equality. Garcha is Senior Director of Sustainable Finance at Impact Investment Exchange (IIX), where she leads the award-winning Women’s Livelihood Bond™ Series, an innovative capital markets platform that has empowered more than three million women across emerging markets.

She is also the architect of the Orange Bond Principles, a pioneering global framework that has mobilized over US$1.5 billion toward gender-responsive climate solutions and has become one of the fastest-growing thematic bond labels worldwide.
​
Earlier in her career, Garcha worked on Wall Street at D.E. Shaw & Co., focusing on fixed income and global investor relations while co-leading the firm’s corporate social responsibility initiatives. She also co-founded the Shades of Happiness Foundation, expanding access to education for underserved children.

Garcha holds a Master’s in International Relations from Harvard University, an MBA from the University of Oxford, and a Master’s in Business Law from the National Law School of India. She is a frequent global speaker and lecturer on sustainable finance, climate security, and gender-lens investing at United Nations gatherings, universities, and financial industry events.
